Pack 47 has been serving the youth of Fairhope since 1957. We are a co-ed group, meaning both boys and girls are welcome to join. Chartered by the On the Trail Foundation, the mission of Pack 47 is to provide the best scouting experience possible for all interested youth. Pack 47 is a large and active Pack. Our membership is typically 50 youth with scouts from Fairhope West Elementary, Fairhope East Elementary, J Larry Newton, homeschooled students, and others who travel to Fairhope for our experience. Scouting is run by parent volunteers serving as Den Leaders, Committee Members, and Unit Leaders.

Cubmaster

The Cubmaster is the unit leader of a Pack and primary point of contact for parents. The Cubmaster’s primary duties are executing the program plan created by the Pack Committee, running Pack events, and managing the den programs. Our Cubmaster is Steve Zuercher, who grew up on the Eastern Shore, and is passionate about helping shape the next generation of youth through the ideals of the cub scout law and oath. Steve can be reached at cubmasterpack47@gmail.com.

Committee Chair

The Pack is governed by a committee of registered leaders who meet monthly. Much like a board of directors, the Pack Committee is responsible for event planning, finances, training, and annual program planning. Our Committee Chair is Paul Marcinko.
